Melaka state government has vision to use Information Communication Technology (ICT) to empower Melaka economy.
Using ICT, Melaka has known around the world. Melaka government also build their own company to ensure ICT in Melaka is good.
The company known as Melaka ICT Holding Sdn Bhd or MITCH was incorporated in July 2003. MITCH was introduced by former Melaka Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Haji Mohd Ali Rostam, who realized that there was tremendous potential in ICT sector.
Melaka state government formed MITCH to activelly involved in ICT Services and Infrastructure, not only in Melaka state but throughout the country, taking its advantage as State-Backed Company (SBC).
Today, MITCH under the Charimanship of YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ir. Hj. Idris bin Hj. Haron has transformed into an active SBC providing innovative and value added ICT Managed Services for all.
MITCH is fully owned by the Tabung Amanah Melaka, Jabatan kewangan Negeri Melaka. MITCH vision is to ’empowering people through online communication’ and their mission to ‘profitable growth through superior services and products’.
Since 2005, MICTH has built and acquired more than 132 telecommunication towers throughout the state of Melaka to cater for the network expansion needs of cellular operators.
And since 2014, Melaka Government has mandated to MITCH as stipulated in the guidelines used for the construction of telecommunication structure in the state of Melaka.
The purpose of the telecommunications structure is in line with efforts Melaka and Melaka State Government whishes to achieve the target of 75% of broadband access in Melaka by 2016.
