‘Impression Melaka’ To Be Launched Next Year As Iconic Tourism Product
Melaka will be the first city outside China to stage the 10th production under acclaimed Chinese film maker Zhang Yimou’s “Impression” series of outdoor musical shows. Impression Melaka is scheduled to open in October 2014, in conjunction with Malaysia-China Friendship Year to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations and in time for Visit Malaysia Year.

‘Impression Melaka’ would host two or three shows every night, with each show lasting between 70 and 90 minutes, with rotating audience seating which could accommodate up to 2,000 visitors per performance.The project is expected to attract 1.2 million tourists per year, generating RM179mil of gross national income for Malaysia.

414 foreigners, local detained in “Ops Bersepadu 6P” in Melaka

A total of 414 foreign immigrants were detained in a six-hour operation from midnight under “Ops Bersepadu 6P” in Melaka. Luckily these people came to Melaka for work. They comprise 203 from Indonesia, 100 from Myanmar, 63 from Nepal, 21 from Bangladesh, 10 from India and six from Vietnam. What if they came and brought weapons and want to create havoc in Melaka. 414 is a big number. Those are the ones that were successfully detained, those that were not?
